The JCR is run and represented by the JCR Executive - the people listed on the next page whom you elect and the president supervises. We represent your views to the College as well as to the two student bodies to which Exeter is affiliated - OUSU (Oxford University Student Union) and the NUS (National Union of Students).

JCR representatives sit on a number of College committees, with the aim of getting the undergraduate voice heard on the way that the College is run. We aim to protect your financial, academic and pastoral interests on all fronts, as well as dealing with your concerns and requests. This is generally not always as difficult as it sounds as the College authorities are normally pretty sympathetic and receptive to our cause.

I'm Katy, a third year reading Mathematics & Philosophy, and your JCR President. I oversee the work of the Exec and make sure everything is running smoothly, as well as organising college events, running JCR meetings and negotiating rents. I also sit on a huge number of College and University committees, representing your views and making sure your interests are looked after. I'm always on hand if you have ideas about how the JCR or College can work better. And if you ever need help with anything at Exeter, from finding a room for a rehearsal to making sure hardship grants are assessed fairly, just give me a bell and I'll do my best to make it happen.

Hi, my name is Hannah and I’m the female welfare officer this year. I’m here to make sure your time at Exeter College is as happy and stress-free as is possible – we all know that Oxford can be a bit of a pressure cooker at times. It’s my job to provide you with yummy sugary goodies and copious amounts of tea, coffee and squash every week at welfare tea, as well as a selection of welfare provisions (condoms, pregnancy tests, attack alarms etc.). But I’m also here if you need to talk about anything at all that’s concerning you, or if you just want a cup of tea and a chat. I’m living out this year, but I’m always around college, so grab me for a chat, give me a call or send me an email.

I’m Simon and I’m your male welfare rep. Like Hannah, it is my job to make sure you are smiling. Whether it is through our weekly welfare teas, chats around college or the welfare supplies at the bottom of staircase 10, I want to see you happy. Oxford has a range of different services available for all sorts of student welfare issues. Please feel free to visit me confidentially if you need more information or just want to chat. Welfare love.

Hi everyone we are Joshua and Rupert, and we will be your Entertainments (Entz) Reps for the coming year! As your Entz Reps, we will be responsible for ensuring that you don’t spend all your time in the library and that we fill your evenings with events to take your mind of any looming work you might have! This role then includes organising fresher’s week nights out, organising and setting up for bops and overall responsibility for promoting entertainment and fun in college. So we will be the ones to come to for tickets for nights out or questions on what’s going on in the week. We have some interesting and original ideas that should make this year one to remember. Do contact us if you have any ideas of your own, want to join Entz committee or just want to give us a hand now and then.

Hi everyone, I'm Ellen, a 2nd year English student and your Academic Affairs, Admissions and Access Officer. As you can tell, my job breaks down into 3 parts:

1. I'm here to help out with your Academic Affairs, so if you have any problems with work or the way you are being taught, you can contact me. I can advise you and put you in contact with the people who are best suited to help (see here for more information about what I can do for you).

2. I also help organise the student helpers for the Admissions interviews in December, so will be needing volunteers!

3. I also work with the Schools Liaison Officer Alice Wilby to organise Access events (usually schools coming to visit Exeter) which I'll also regularly need volunteers for.

Howdy all. I'm Harry, as the budding detectives among you will have noticed, and I'm your JCR Information Officer – basically, it's my duty to publicise the fortnightly "goings-on" around College, as well as carpet-bombing your inbox with thrice-weekly showers of information love. Find me out and about, usually collecting humerous quotes and embarassing anecdotes for the bogsheet...

Hey! I’m Grace, and I am a second year PPEist and your Women’s Officer this year. I work with the female welfare rep to provide you with second-to-none WELFARE love. If you want a chat, have particular things you would like to discuss, academic or personal, you will find me a good listener and I will give you impartial advice to the best of my ability. Of course everything is held in strict confidence. Like Hannah I can also provide free pregnancy tests, free rape alarms and reimburse you for the morning-after-pill. I am also involved with promoting women's issues within the college and JCR. In Michaelmas and Hilary I will be holding dinners, drinks parties and other events. Some of these will be to bring the women of the college together and others will be to highlight women’s issues and will, therefore, be open to all. So please come along and have fun!

Hi there, I'm Mark and Exeter's OUSU rep. The acronym stands for Oxford University Student Union and the job is covers a two way relationship. It means that I'm in charge of letting all of you know what's happening in Oxford's overall student body and I'll update you at JCR meetings. I am also responsible for taking your concerns and complaints to OUSU, which can often deal with things more effectively than JCRs alone can. I also restock the stationary cupboard. Happy times.
