Rowing
Why should you do rowing at Exeter? Well, there are some excellent reasons why rowing is
Oxford’s most popular sport, and even more why it’s so good at Exeter!
The boat club is both friendly and enthusiastic – with four women’s and three men’s boats
competing last term there is a seat for EVERYONE, whether you’re already keen and competitive or if you just want a bit of fun and exercise now and then. Most people who come to university have never rowed before, and with the only competitive event in Michaelmas Term – Christ Church regatta – being exclusively for novices, there is really no excuse not to give it a go (and what a better way to beat Freshers’ flab)!
Not to mention the great social life – rowers’ nights are infamous at the bar for being some of the rowdiest, whether it’s crew dates, the termly Boat Club dinner or post-training lash. If rowing sounds like your kind of thing then definitely don’t miss out on Rowing Drinks and Boat Club BBQ in Freshers’ Week! Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.
