If you want to get involved in College life then the Chapel Choir is an excellent way to do so! We are a very friendly and welcoming group of about 25, one of Oxford’s leading mixed-voice choirs and probably the most active group in College. We do special events such as tours, concerts, BBC broadcasts and CDs. Our latest CD was released on EM Records in April 2014 and featured a new commission in celebration of the College’s 700th Anniversary.

The choir annually tours abroad; having travelled to the East Coast of the US in 2014, in July 2015 we visited Cologne and Bonn singing in numerous venues including Cologne Cathedral. Other recent destinations have included Italy’s Adriatic Coast, Barcelona, Venice and Paris. The choir is known as a particularly social group and being student-led really brings this to the fore.

Our time together in services is combined with various social events throughout the year, both formal and informal (often beginning the former and ending the latter!). Anybody can audition and no prior experience is necessary, although because of the size of the commitment, a reasonably high standard of sight-reading is desirable. Whether or not you choose to sing in the choir, all are welcome at chapel services and concerts throughout the year.
